We decided to visit South Padre Island on a whim, but our stay didn't quite live up to the expectations set by the photos. While the location was nice and we enjoyed having a little patio facing the bay, the room itself was quite outdated and smelled musty. We ended up feeling that the price we paid was not worth the quality of our accommodations.
